Julie Martz  CEO

Ms. Julie Martz is the Chief Executive Officer / Founder with over 25 years of industry experience; specifically, engineering, program management, program planning, and cost management. While employed by NASA, she was responsible for determining project cost projections used to formulate the agency’s yearly budget for specific programs such as: Shuttle, Space Station, and others. As a contractor, her responsibilities included development of cost estimating techniques and adapting cost models for independent cost estimates. Ms. Martz attended both Auburn University and University of Alabama in Huntsville while completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Under her guidance, 4M has experienced explosive growth and completed acquisition of another company that has expanded core competencies and provided immediate prime contractor past performance.

Randy Tieszen  President

Randy brings over 40 years of leadership and management experience to 4M.

Previously, he was the President of Systems Products and Solutions, Inc.; was the Chief Operating Officer of the Systems Engineering Group, QinetiQ North America; and Executive Vice President for Aviation Programs in Westar Aerospace Group.

Tieszen completed a 31 year career as a U.S. Army Officer retiring at the rank of Brigadier General in 2004 having served in Germany, Korea, and Iraq while commanding Combat Aviation and Air Cavalry units at all levels.

He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of South Dakota as well as a Masters in Business Administration.


Garrett Martz  Chief Business / Technical Officer

Mr. Garrett Martz has over 32 years of industry experience and he serves as the Chief Business / Technical Officer responsible for corporate direction and growth along with all merger and acquisition activities. Before joining 4M, Mr. Martz managed the Systems Engineering Group at QinetiQ North America with a total yearly revenue of over $440M and 2,400 direct and indirect employees. Mr. Martz came to QinetiQ via acquisition of Westar Aerospace and Defense Group which had previously acquired his company ELMCO, Incorporated; an employee owned company where he was the Chief Executive Officer and President. Mr. Martz holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Auburn University and a Masters of Electrical Engineering degree from Southeastern Institute of Technology.

Neal Caldwell Executive V.P. Enterprise Solutions

Neal Caldwell was born in Jackson, Mississippi and has lived in the Nashville, Tennessee area for nearly half of his life. His college journey carried him to Mississippi College, Ole Miss, University of Louisiana Monroe, and Harvard Business School. Neal got involved in Information Technology business solutions in the early 90's with a company called SkyTel and has been delivering Enterprise Resource Planning solutions both domestically and internationally since. In the early 2000's he began in Public Sector in the Higher Education & Research market later moving into U.S. Federal. Neal has supported U.S. Federal clients with some of their most difficult IT challenges for over 10 years now. His career path has allowed him to support ERP solutions ranging in size from the largest most complex deployments in Federal Government to commercial startups under $20M in annual revenue. Prior to 4M Research, Neal held executive leadership roles as Managing Partner of the Federal SAP Consulting Practice at CSC and Executive Director Enterprise Solutions at CIBER. He was also a founding member of two consulting startups, Holland Technology and DD Synergy U.S.A.

In his life outside of work, Neal spends most of his time with his wife Teresa and their two children. Neal enjoys the outdoors and activities including mountain biking, hiking, fishing, camping, boating, and football...high school, Ole Miss, and Titans football to be specific!

John Wilson V.P. Engineering

Mr. Wilson is the Vice President of Engineering at 4M Research, Inc. He currently serves as the Lead Systems Engineer for the Ground-based Missile Defense (GMD) Simulation Center, providing systems engineering and subject matter expertise regarding modeling and simulation of the GMD system and components in a distributed environment.

Mr. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Nebraska Wesleyan University. He has significant training in the fields of systems engineering, operations research, and program management. His primary experience over the past 30 years has been the application of physics, systems engineering, software development, modeling and simulation techniques, and mathematical solutions to Department of Defense Programs.

Mr. Wilson has used these disciplines on numerous projects and programs, including: the design, prototyping, and simulation of military infrared (IR) and visible sensor systems; characterization of IR and visible phenomenology; test case and scenario development, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop development, integration, test, and evaluation of missiles and missile defense systems including GMD, Arrow, and Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD); operation and live-virtual-constructive simulation of ground combat systems; and development of battle management, command, and control algorithms, software and simulation for BMD.
